On 25 September 2019, Sampietro S.r.l. obtained the Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certification from ICEA.
The GRS is an international, voluntary, textile certification that sets out requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions. The GRS is intended to meet the needs of companies looking to verify the recycled content of textile products (both finished and intermediate) and to verify responsible social, environmental and chemical practices in their production.
GRS provides for the issuance of a third-party verified environmental declaration that ensures the content of recycled materials in textile products, both intermediate and finished, the maintenance of traceability throughout the entire production process, restrictions on the use of chemicals and the respect of environmental and social criteria in all stages of the production chain, from the recycling of materials, to the subsequent manufacturing stages, up to the labelling of the finished product.
